September 16th is National Play-Doh Day! 3 Ways to Celebrate!

September 16th is National Play-Doh Day! And since we were little nieces and nephews ourselves, Play-Doh has been a part of our lives, in one form or another (pun intended!).
Hasbro's Play-Doh has come along way since it's modest beginnings over 50 years ago. Today, Play-Doh is still a classic toy that enables children to create anything their imagination desires. That's called Free Play. Want ideas to inspire your nieces and nephews? We love these! And the newer Play-Doh Playsets help kids with by supplying molds, shapes and context for their free play.
Our newest favorite Play-Doh sets are the PLAY-DOH COCO-NUTTY MONKEY Playset and the PLAY-DOH Burger Builder Playset. We can hear the giggles (and taste the burgers) from here!
Of course, you can create your own form of 'play-dough' at home. Here's a recipe from our archives to help you prepare.
Finally, Play-Doh went organic in the form of Miss Brittney's Preschool Fun Dough. Miss Britteny is a school teacher who wanted to provide preschoolers with alternatives to what she found in stores. Fun Dough is her own invention!
By the way, we don't want to imply that Hasbro's Play-Doh is not safe! The only thing to be careful about is that it does contain wheat, so if your niece or nephew is allergic to wheat gluten, be careful they don't eat any Play Doh.
