I have the pleasure of being an aunt to the most amazing kids ever. My oldest are twins, a boy and a girl, they are about to be 11 years old which made me 16 years old when they were born, I never liked kids until I laid my eyes on these two. Leg and Matt were so tiny and innocent. They lived with me until they were almost a year old and then they move just downstairs to their own place; even being in high school with my swim team and all the clubs I made it a pirority to come home every night and be there for them. I would give them a bath, sing to them and just stare at them. Their amazing blue eyes sparkled and their warm hugs melted my heart.
They haven't had the best life and for that I am sad, but I decided a long time ago that I would be there from them no matter what. I take them out to experienece life and see that being a good person matters.
When they were 2 years old their mom had a hard time and she had a family friend take them, I was so sad, no one could find them or their mom to get answers. So knocking on doors and finding them consumed my life, and I did just that, found them, we went to a park that day they were wearing matching overalls and they had the most adorable smile. I couldn't stop hugging them.
I would like to think that no matter what happens in their life that they will call Aunt Obby and confide in me. I teach them about love and happines. We go get starbucks almost every time we hang out. That is our thing. We sit at the table there in the cafe and just talk, we talk everything and nothing. My nephew will ask a million questions and my niece will tell me how much she wants to be like me.
These kids are the meaning of love and I am so lucky to be a part of that!
