Kids are just way too funny; my nieces have not disappointed me!
On Sunday, Rue Rue (the oldest niece) brought her toy medical bag over to my sister, who has not been feeling well due to her pregnancy. Rue took out the stethoscope and put it to her mother's chest and listened. My sister says she had a very serious look on her face. She finally pulled her hand away and declared "Mama, you heart is fine; I can hear the ABCs."
Bella's security item is Moose, a floppy-headed moose that was given to her at her baby shower. She and Moose are inseparable, and Moose generally has to do whatever it is that Bella's doing. This also means he gets left a lot of places. On Monday, my sister-in-law finally told Bella that even though Moose was missing, she wasn't going to look for him. Bella said "but you have to Mommy!" and mommy said "no" again. Bella cocked her head and said "but he can't walk and talk because he's a toy; he needs help!" Have I mentioned that Bella's named her arms? The left one is Manny and the right one is JarJar. I wonder when she'll realize that they're just arms and not her best friends?
All her life, Lizzie has been petrified of the vacuum cleaner. She refused to enter my brother's house one day because she could hear the vacuum running. She freaks out and has a panic attack just seeing one in a room not being used. So when her sister, Lee Lee, was given a play vacuum for her birthday, it was a shock to everyone that Lizzie was the one who wrestled it away and proceeded to vacuum the entire level of the house!
Lee Lee's able to stand now; she just hasn't figured out how to move forward yet while on her feet. She's plenty quick on her legs with her shuffle. During her birthday party, she was seated on the couch with her grandparents. My brother got on the floor across the room from them and was catching the bigger girls as they tried to run past him. Lee Lee pushed herself forward so quickly and was about to leap right off the couch and go play with them! Thankfully Grandpy has good reflexes.
Mickie has cut his first tooth! He's also decided he doesn't need diapers anymore; he figured out how to get it off - at 10 months. He's also not cooperating anymore in getting new ones applied. My sister has to pin him down in order to get the job done!
Holly's been chewing her hands like mad; the top pallet is full of bumps; those teeth are going to pop through any day now I hope. She is totally fascinated with her left hand. She pulls it out and stares at it; she turns it around and looks at both sides. Today she figured out how to wave that hand. I wonder what she'll do when she realize she's got another hand just like it?
